ARTWORK EDUCATION<\/strong>
\nThere are two<\/strong> types of art files on the computer. Bitmap<\/strong> (also known as pixel art) and Vector art<\/strong> (also known as line art).<\/p>\n

Bitmap \/ Raster Art<\/strong>\u00a0: <\/span>(to be used for printed items<\/strong> such as Banners, signs, posters,<\/strong> flags)\u00a0\u00a0 This Artwork\u00a0 can be scanned<\/span>.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Acceptable artwork files can be sent as JPG, PDF. BMP, GIF, PNG, TIF, PSD.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Photoshop (PSD)\u00a0 Jpeg (jpg)\u00a0 Universal File Format (tif)<\/p>\n

Please provide a Pantone color code or CMYK value if color matching or\u00a0changes are needed.<\/p>\n

Vector Art:<\/strong><\/span> is made up of lines and curves defined by mathematical objects called vectors.\u00a0 They can be scaled to any size without loss of quality.<\/p>\n

This is<\/strong> Necessary<\/em> for Embroidery<\/strong> & Artwork<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Adobe Illustrator (ai.)\u00a0 Corel Draw, Freehand, etc. saved to a generic EPS format.<\/p>\n

BITMAP \/ RASTER ART<\/strong>\u2028is created using programs like Photoshop or anything that is scanned and not converted to line art. These files should be saved at a very high resolution. Bitmap images, also called raster images, consist of a grid, or bitmap, of small squares known as pixels. Bitmap images are set at a fixed resolution, therefore they are resolution dependent. If you send bitmap art we can use it as a template to convert it into vector<\/em> <\/span>format. This will incur an art charge.<\/p>\n

VECTOR ART<\/strong>\u2028is made up of lines and curves defined by mathematical objects called vectors. They are resolution independent. Therefore they can be scaled to any size without loss of quality. Text should be converted to outlines, paths or curves when sending a vector file to another location. This way, the font suitcase and printer fonts do not need to be present to print the file. \u2028Note that if you are thinking about using a graphic off of a web site, please understand that we cannot use highly compressed formats such as GIF or JPEG.
